Lean/Six Sigma Events/Classes
Lean Events - I lead 3 day Lean Events where your selected team and I reduce costs, FTE's wastes, defects, loops, approvals, steps while improving the quality the output of the process.
Greenbelt Classes - a one week intense class where attendees learn the tools in the morning and apply them to their own process in the afternoon. They not only become Greenbelts but improve processes as well. Greenbelt certification is given after completion of the course and the process is improved and validated by management usually in a 3 month period.
Blackbelt Classes - a 3 week class where attendees learn the tools then apply them to their own process in between classes. They not only become Greenbelts but improve processes as well. Blackbelt Class Tools Learned:
The difference between Lean & Six Sigma: Lean is an initiative to reduce time, steps, processes, loops, cycles, documentation, approvals, material, FTE’s, etc. Lean applies the least amount of Six Sigma tools as possible to accomplish the task as well as tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Little’s Law. Lean is a part of Six Sigma and can be utilized alone or as part of a Six Sigma project. Lean Events are typically 1-3 days and should not be longer than 5 days. If estimated time is greater, DMAIC/DMADV should be used. Six Sigma is a methodology to reduce variation, defects and its associated costs, rework, etc. Six Sigma contains many tools and is to be used when the problem and/or solution is not apparent. Six Sigma’s main components are: DMAIC, DMADV, DFSS and Lean.
